Adrienne Maples‘You’re 30?’ Jonathon’s eyes grew wide with amazement as he asked me the question.

I am fairly certain that ‘thirty’ sounds like old age to a teenager.

Jonathon is my step-sister’s first born. He is actually the the first baby that I spent any time with. He was always a very happy child, inquisitive & bright. I was a silly teenager back then and while I haven’t grown much in size… I distinctly remember Jonathon being much smaller. There was a day I remember quite well, when I stood rocking him to sleep in the foyer of my childhood home. He wasn’t much bigger than Ella back then…

Jonathon is no longer the blond baby boy that needed to be rocked to sleep. These days he is a tall, quiet teenager who has a bright and beautiful girlfriend…  How does time manage to fly by so fast, yet so slow at the same time? I don’t exactly remember when Jonathon passed me in height. Although it’s not a difficult challenge to surpass my ‘towering’ 5 inches, three quarters. I think I was twelve when I grew taller than my grandmother. That was a good day.

While I was home I spent an afternoon with Jonathon & his little sister, Anna.  Of course Anna is the tiny one these days & I am amazed that the little boy I once knew is quickly becoming a full grown man.
