Birthday Freebie, How you Create an Unforgettable Birthday

As I sat opposite my daughter, emotions overwhelmed me. We were celebrating at Denny’s with our favorite: ‘Breakfast for Dinner’. The staff encircled our table, serenading my perfect girl with a jubilant rendition of “Happy Birthday.” This was the last stop on our trek for birthday freebie’s.

Normally, I’m not a fan of restaurant birthday shenanigans but today was an exception.

My baby girl is officially a teenager and it was her idea to find all of the birthday freebie’s!

As they sang, she looked across the table at me smiling from ear to ear. We’d already enjoyed a complimentary meal but our waitress surprised us with a scoop of ice cream topped with a cheerful green candle. This spontaneous gesture added an extra layer of delight to an already unforgettable day.

While lavish gifts like a new iPhone, Converse high-tops and a cute kitten brought her immense joy, it was her decision to curate her own birthday experience and I was truly impressed.

Allow me to share a few secrets I learned about crafting a birthday freebie extravaganza!

The perfect start to our afternoon of birthday freebies.

We kicked off our adventure at Red Robin, where my daughter enjoyed a mouthwatering free cheeseburger. Next, we headed to Nothing Bundt Cake. We hadn’t signed up prior to our visit, but we were still welcomed with open arms. We left with a small Confetti cake and couldn’t resist purchasing a second one.

Before venturing to the mall, we made a pit stop at Ulta. Again, we hadn’t signed up in time to receive the free gift. My daughter was treated to a birthday makeover courtesy of a lovely Clinique representative. As an added bonus, she received a complimentary eyeliner, and we happily invested in their hydrating SPF foundation.

As we made our way through the mall seeking birthday freebie’s, my daughter grabbed my hand leading the way.

Bath & Body Works celebrates your big day by giving you a travel size product with any purchase. Boxed Lunch provides a $5 reward towards any purchase. And while Claire’s doesn’t typically celebrate birthday’s, the gals behind the counter graciously offered their employee discount to insure my daughter walked away happy.

Sephora was a fan favorite as my daughter was allowed to choose from three gift set options and was not required to make a minimum purchase. She selected a gift to compliment her face routine which included lotion, cleanser & eye cream. Again we had to be a rewards member but the sign up process was instantaneous.

While our day brimmed with enchanting experiences, we encountered a couple of minor setbacks. Starbucks, for instance, required us to accumulate a certain number of points for a birthday free drink, emphasizing the necessity of foresight and meeting eligibility criteria. Similarly, Auntie’s Pretzels fell short as we hadn’t signed up on their app 72 hours prior. Nevertheless, these blips didn’t overshadow the overall success of our day. My daughter noted we were greeted by men at both of these stores and I found it interesting that this coincided with walking away empty handed.

We popped in a few places that offered no birthday incentives but when we were greeted warmly, I still made purchases in those stores like Claire’s & Lush.

Lastly we stopped by Crumbl Cookie where again we hadn’t signed up in time. We assumed defeat but while turning to leave, Jillian exclaimed ‘everyone deserves a free cookie on their birthday!’ Score Birthday Freebie Cookie (which we enjoyed the following day)!!!

Tips for Planning Your Birthday Freebie Experience

Creating the best birthday freebie experience for your child is all about planning, signing up, and being bold enough to ask for special treatment. Remember to research and sign up for loyalty programs, approach staff with confidence, and be aware of any specific requirements or deadlines. By following these tips, you can make your child’s birthday truly unforgettable.

1. Plan Ahead and Sign Up: Many establishments require you to sign up in advance to receive birthday freebies. Start by researching your favorite restaurants, stores, and beauty brands. Sign up for their loyalty programs or newsletters to ensure you don’t miss out on any special offers.

2. Be Bold and Ask: Don’t be afraid to let people know it’s your birthday! When visiting stores or beauty counters, approach the staff and kindly inquire if they have any birthday specials or discounts. You’ll be surprised at how often they are willing to make your day extra special.

3. Learn from Our Mistakes: While we had a fantastic day overall, we did encounter a couple of disappointments. Starbucks, for instance, requires you to accumulate a certain number of points before receiving a birthday free drink. To avoid similar experiences, make sure to plan ahead and accumulate points or meet any necessary requirements. Additionally, some establishments have strict sign-up deadlines, so be sure to check their policies in advance.
