I secretly wish I was a Zarda… and I am pretty sure a number of people celebrating Bethany’s wedding have that same sentiment. They are kind, loving people who are fabulously fun & easy to be around. They have four great kids… who’ve turned into bright, responsible adults. A parent’s dream- this family! Last Saturday their youngest daughter got married & her new husband is a man who is absolutely devoted to her. Again, a parent’s dream come true!
I was there to capture the eldest daughter’s outdoor ceremony in June a few years back. The temperature had soared to over 105 degrees that day!! But just prior to the ceremony, a violent storm was heading to the area. Out of nowhere, the skies opened up & pelted (yes, pelted!) us with big fat raindrops. The wind had gusts of 40+ mph, destroying the beautiful work Craig Sole had just finished on the alter. The storm left as quickly as it began.. but it had taken with it the unbareable heat. The temperature had dropped into the 80’s & the skies were beautiful.
So with an unusually hot summer in Kansas where the temperature hasn’t dipped below 100 in weeks, Bethany & Donny were blessed with a shocking 86 degrees! This made one fair-skinned photographer a very happy woman! I wasn’t sure how I was going to pull off 10 bridesmaids & 10 groomsmen in 100+ weather for an outdoor ceremony. But it was a perfect day & a truly deserving couple.

A big thank you to all of the wonderful people who made Ashlee & I feel right at home. Karen & Bernie, you two are wonderful & it shows in your amazing children. I am honored that you asked me to, yet again, photograph one of the most important days in your daughters’ lives.
It’s been a tradition for the Zarda boys to perform a skit during the reception. This performance was far & away the best I’ve even seen!! Bethany’s brother’s wrote & cherographed a dance in honor of the happy couple. It was H I L A R I O U S!! I’m hoping this shows up on UTube so we can enjoy it again & again.
Congratulations to the happy couple! Their proofs will be on our new proofing website in a couple of weeks: https://www.amaplesproofing.com
